  • [SOLVED] elicenser on slave PC

    Hi,

I've had a slave PC built and am using Logic 9 on a mac as a front end, i have 2 elicenser dongles both of which have been updated for my SE 1/2 Libraries and the free Epic Orchestra that was bundled with VE Pro 5

I have a problem with the elicenser in as much that the VIPro 2 license is showing on both dongles but i can only access the VIPro 2 plug in from either the mac or the PC - not both, as a PC newbie i have installed all the updates and at a loss as to why both dongles don't work in the same way, my understanding is that a single licence can be used on 2 machines?

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance,

  • Hello Nick,

You have received 3 licenses for VE PRO 5 and VI PRO, so that you can use this software on up to 3 machines... Did you distribute the licenses accordingly?

Just to avoid confusion: Each Vienna Instruments Collection comes with 1 license, so it can only be used on one machine at a time.

    Does that help?

    Best,

    Paul

  • HI Paul,

I'm not sure how to distribute the licences across teh 2 dongles, is it possible that i may have used more than one licence within the same machine/dongle?

My VSL user info shows several VIPro 2 licences,

For clarification: i can only use the SE libraries on one computer?

    Thanks for your help,

    Nick

    Hello Nick,

Moving licenses is simple: Connect both keys to one computer, start the eLicenser Control Center and drag a license from one key to the other. You need an internet connection to do so.

    That´s correct.

EDIT: To be exact, you can use 1 license on 1 computer. As you have Special Edition Volume 1 and Volume 2, you can also use these collections on 2 separate computers, Volume 1 on Computer 1, Volume 2 on Computer 2.

  • Thanks for your help,

I'll try this and update you asap,

    - is it possible to purchase additional licenses for SE libraries?

    Best,

    Nick

  • Hello Nick,

Of course you can purchase as many SE licenses as you like, but there are no side-licenses available for our entry-level products, sorry to say.

They are designed to run easily on one computer, and actually all other VI Collections are optimized the same way.

  • Hi Paul,

    thanks for the info,

Wierdly enough the dongle with the VIPro 2 licence works on my mac but not the PC, i'm putting all the VSL libraries on my slave PC but can't access them as the latest update of VE Pro 5 requires a separate ViPro 2 instrument,

    Any thoughts?

    Best,

    NIck

    Hi Nick,

My thoughts regarding this problem are of quite a standard nature. This is the mantra of our support team and helps in a very high percentage of our support cases [:)]

Please install the latest versions of all VSL Software (in your case VE PRO 5 and VI PRO) on both computers.

Also make sure that you are using the latest eLicenser Control Center.

Of course you need a license for VE PRO 5 and VI PRO available on both keys, if you´d like to use this software on both computers.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

All the software is up to date, both my dongles show Vir instrument and Ensemble - there is no distinction for ViPro so hard to see whether i am licensed for the basic standalone or VIPro 2 - i guess it must reference the purchased version?

I wondered if i had multiple instances of ViPro registered to the same computer?

I looked at my licences on the VSL site and there seemed to be a few extra ones!

Can you please check this and also let me know how many machines i can licence with one purchase of VirPro 2.

    Many thanks,

    NIck

  • Hi Nick,

VI PRO comes with 3 licenses. You have received 3 activation codes rigtht after purchase, on the 26th of January 2012, but you have not used any of them.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,

    Paul

  • How strange!

VIPro works fine in Logic on my mac but not on my PC,

Is there any way the activation codes could be resent please- i don't have a copy of the email,

    Thanks again!

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Probably a demo license that is still on the Mac key.

I have just resent the activation codes to your registered email address.

    Paul
