I just installed the Symphonic Cube on a brand new 8 core MacPro with 9GB of RAM. (I tried taking out the 2 512's, but it made no difference)
I have the Symphonic Cube installed on a 750GB internal drive.
I am running DP 5.12, OS 10.4.10, and the most up to date versions of everything. The Audio Interface is a MOTU Traveler.
What is happening is, I can load two Level 2 solo matrices fine, but when I get to loading the 3rd, the Activity monitor show the VSL-Server going from using <2GB of Real Memory to supposedly using a whopping 16,777,216.00TB!! It seems to crash shortly after that, and that causes DP to go into the endless spinning beach ball of death.
Has anybody ever seen this before? Any ideas how to stop it?
Also, it takes several minutes to load 2 GB into RAM, is that normal?
I'm installing Logic to check it out, but as of now I'm a little concerned.
Also I tried using the VSL StandAlone in order to use more than 4GB, but the audio gets very choppy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
