  • Thanks Cyril, maybe i wasn't explaining well : all is fine connected and was working fine till i've replaced the internet router who is just connected on the port 1 of the first mac. The other macs are on etnet hub (fixed address) and all is fine.

The problem i've got is : if the mac 1 is connected to the internet router i just get a slow sharing, if i remove the etnet cable ( port 1 attached to the internet modem ) all is fast and fine.

  • before you say you had 2 router !

You have one router and one Ethernet switch, you have to be precise because a router and a switch is not the same

so you have one of those :

in the Ethernet configuration you have an Advance / hardware : how it is set on the 2 ethernet port ?

  • Yes Cyril,

i have a modem wifi Netgear attached to the port 1 and a Dlink 10/100/1000 attached to the port 2.

Attached to Dlink are the other Macs. Everything was fine till my old Netgear 834gt died.

So i've purchased the new one who seems introducing that problem.

If i disconnect the ethernet port 1 (attached to the wifi modem) all is going fine.

in the Ethernet configuration you have an Advance / hardware : how it is set on the 2 ethernet port ?

    Basic Settings with 10.0.etc address

    (thx)

  • is your netgear a 1 Gigabit router ?

force 1 Gb and see if it is improving

Other solution is you connect both Eth port to your switch

  • No Netgear is a 10/100 ( as usual for modem wifi ).....

  • my router is Gigabit[:D], so connect both port on your switch and connet your router to the switch

  • ....for the other devices........

  • ...btw, just solving by removing the ethernet cable from port 1 to wifi internet router and connect when there is a need for on mac 1.....

maybe it's not just new modem relate, maybe os - remote desktop related, maybe yes maybe not........thanks.
