For Cubase sx user, you can use this tips to transform the data of velocity of the notes you recorded in a continuous controller for using the velocty_xfade function of VI:
In sx open the Key editor and select the notes you want to extract the velocity data ( don't select the keyswitch note)
- open the Logical editor and create a preset and store it:
------------------------------------
Insert
------Files target------------------
Type is.......Equal........ Note
-----------------------------------Action target------
Type.............Set to fixed value......Controller...
Value1..........Set to fixed value.......xx.......
And press "do it"
(xx=No of the cc you want to use)
Now you have a lane with Controller you can adjust to create expression and can use the great function of Vi : the Velocity X-fade.
You can try on the beautiful JBacal tutorial who doesn't use the Velocity Xfade
Best regards
