hi all.
after a few weeks of experiences (why do we have to do them?) some
questions and thoughts...
first, i love the new interface and the articulations within vienna instruments!!
but, loading times are still unaccaptable for me ...
i splitted the library in three parts due to the memory limitation. two of them are running on pc´s using VStack (orchestra strings and solo strings, loaded the most usefull samples and the max. memory is full)
the third part is working as a plug in logic 7.2 on my mac g5 dual 2,0 with 6 gigs ram.
on the pc´s due to the loading times i created setups, which i hopefully never have to change when i work on a new song (idea: standart setups)
but in logic, i often have to load new songs the whole day which spends 2-5 minutes with VI´s plugged in it
so:
1. why logic ever load all samples from the very beginning when changing a session, sometimes with the same VI-samples in it??
2. worked a few days with the demo-licence on a brand new syncrosoft key, which
speed up loading times really!!!
3. read about the "syncrosoft dongle problem" - so, please, give us professional users (i never used any of that cracked shit and bought all the expensive stuff you
made the last years!!) an unlimited demo key until all problems are solved (and you can be shure, i won´t give this key away ever!!)
after that period you can take this key back home....
4. what about an outlook what´s going on and what´s coming next. what about, when the second half of the library ships (i signed for it just in december)
- perhaps buying another two computers to get them work ...
- get back to gigastudio to get back workflow
5. did you ever thought about making a "standalone" version (64 bit with much more adressable ram, getting rid of operation systems and applications we really don´t need), i bought my first E-64 with full ram for about 4000 €, why not your stuff if it runs without problems ...
sorry, i realy love the work you do, but it have to work for me either ...
best regards
thomas
