  • How do VI's work for 1st and 2nd Violins?

I have no wish to open an old can of worms, so please consider this from a proactive POV.

How do the VI's per instrument work with 1st and 2nd vls? As far as i can see, if a module (strings 1) is installed on computer A, and contains Violins and Cellos, then from computer A as many instruments as systems allow can be loaded.
e.g, violin 1 Track 1, Violin 2 Track 2, violin 3 track 3 (for that 'horrorwood sound!'), etc.

Is this correct? Can one load as many violins as one wishes dependent on hard and software resources?

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • That's correct, you can open multiple instances of the same instrument.

    best

  • Thanks Herb, and I apologise for interrupting you at a busy time.

    Alex.

  • Are the sample headers (in RAM) then shared by the different instances (as is the case with Gigastudio) ?

    Dom

  • Hi Dom,

yes, a second loaded program won´t take any more RAM [:)]
