I work in Digital Performer 11, which gives you the ability to instantly extract an articulation map from Synchron Players (and presumably other VI's, but I've only used it for Synchron). It's extraordinarily useful. The problem? This only works if the Synchron Player is hosted directly in your DP project. DP can't get to the articulations if they're hosted in VEP 7 (I tried this using the MAS, AU and VST3 versions of the plug-in). According to MOTU, that kind of info transfer is something the plug-in has to allow—the Synchron plug does, and the VEP 7 doesn't. (I am using the latest VEP 7 update.)
Is that correct? If it is, it would be great if VSL would allow DAWs to "pierce through the veil" of VEP 7 to extract articulations from VI's hosted by VEP 7. As a workaround, I keep a Synchron Player hosted in my DP projects solely to extract articulation maps, but that involves several extra steps.
Am I missing something?
Thanks—Peter
