Hi Wayne,
What can be better than a lazy Sunday afternoon with a brand new violin concerto offered for free...? Wayne, this is definitely another step in your composition history. Maybe, without being aware of it, you moved on towards the vituoso concerto. Of course that doesn't go without risk: writing for such a delicate instrument and demanding great skill and technique require a lot of experience and knowledge of the violin. As far as I can judge upon that, you've written a challenging concerto movement that us quite well playable. But I'm not a specialist and only an experienced violin player can give an expert opinion. However I don't think there is any passage that wouldn't be playable. Moreover, everything sounds very neat and exteremly well built (as always in your works). The construction stands firmly, but is never disturbing the listening pleasure. The swift alternation between minor and major makes it a highly agreeable piece with a sweet supporting orchestral accompaniment. You're really a master at this.
I can't wait to hear the rest!
