  • Migrating from MIRx to MIR PRO

If I work in MIRx and later buy MIR PRO, is it possible to use MIR PRO to get the same sound as MIRx, and how much work adjusting MIR PRO would this take? I understand MIR PRO is powerful and can do everything MIRx does and more, but I'm wondering how straightforward it would be to migrate to MIR PRO and tune it to match MIRx? Thank you.

  • All MIRx settings are available as presets within MIR Pro, and much of MIRx' automatisms are implemented since the last upate, too. The migration from 'x to 'Pro should be straight-forward.

    HTH,

That seems to be exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you.

    HTH,

Does MIRx Mode in the plug-in version of MIR Pro yield exactly identical results as MIRx, or is it an approximation?

Also, which of MIRx' automatisms are not implemented in MIRx Mode (when using the plug-in version of MIR Pro)?

All Instrument Profiles and its related features have to be assigned manually, as the plug-in has no way of knowing its input data (... MIR Pro can "talk" to the VI(Pro) in its channel when used in VE Pro).

In practice, this means that when using plug-in MIR Pro, I'd just need to manually select the correct instrument-name from a list?

MIRx is a great help to me; good to know I could get the same results out of MIR Pro. Thanks.

    Long story short: Yes. 😊

In principle the results will be identical. MIR Pro plug-in version has a known bug in its RoomEQ assignement which will give you slightly different wet signals. - This bug doesn't appear in the VE-based version, and it will be fixed in the next update of MIR Pro anyway.

Is there a workaround for the bug, like if I manually select RoomEQ? In the Instrument sections? Or in the Room section? I have not mastered RoomEQ yet, it's not clear to me how the settings should look.

    bump

  • Should be fixed in the most recent version of MIR Pro - I'll ask VSL's software engineers to make sure that his is really the case.
