  • Thx - but how can I solve the problem? I don't use VI only VE Pro 5. Should I buy a VI Library to get a working Play 3 environment? For me it sounds like a Network problem..

  • did you look :

    http://cyrilblanc.fr/site_principal/slave_mac.html

it is make for 2 x Mac but you should be able to do the same on a PC

Otherwise submit your problem at support@vsl.co.at

  • Thank you, I tried to reconfigure my network settings at Host (iMac) and Slave (PC). I had DCHP marked in the Slave settings but now it has a static IP. (I don´t know the difference but I tried it)

Now the problem persists in Logic (as before only with Hollywood Strings / Brass) but Pro Tools 10 has no problems anymore and produces a clean sound - ready for record!

I really don´t know what´s going on here, I posted at East West Community too. There are also some sad lost souls.

An official How-to-set-up-network-configuration-guide on VSL is missing definitively.

Now it´s late. Tomorrow I´ve to work with it - I´ll post any news and in case of emergency I´ll contact the support...

  • How are is linked your Imac to your PC ?

Did you force a Gigabit connexion i Neywork/Hardware/Speed

  • The Host-iMac and the Slave-PC are connected via Switch, because of the Euphonix Controller (MC-Transport / MC Artist / MC Mix). They need a network connection too, so all 5 switch ports are used.

When I tried out how to resolve the problem, I had the three controller switched off

    The switch is:

    "TRENDnet TEG-S5 5-Port Gigabit Switch 10/100/1000Mbps, 5 x RJ45 4K MAC Address Table, 8Kbytes per device Buffer Memory"

The Win7 on Slave says it´s connected via 1 Gigabit connection speed

  • why don't you try with just the Imac and the PC connected toogether ?

Did you check the network pref I have speak in  my previous mail ?

You have to narrow down to find the culprit

  • Sorry - I forgot to update: I tried to set up the PC-Slave as you described with Mac-Slave. I set up a static IP via DHCP in Win7. I disabled any Firewalls oon Host/Slave. Now there´s a difference between Logic and Pro Tools:

In Pro Tools everything seems perfect now with or without network switch.

In Logic I still get Pops only at the beginning of a sample with or without switch and only with the Libraries Hollywood Strings / Brass. The Complete Composers Collection and VSTs on PC-Slave VE Pro5 work without any problems..

    It´s a Logic problem..

I posted at East West Forums too (Page 7)

  • Try, if  you  have not already, raising the audio bufer size in Logic.

Agreed. Did you somehow end up with dynamic IP setting?
