  • How do I pan with Midi-Controller 10 within Vienna Ensemble?

    Hi,

    I need some orientation.

When I send Pan-Information (using Midi-Controller 10) to my Vienna Instruments within the Vienna Ensemble it seems to me that nothing changes.

    Does that mean,

    1) I have no idea how to use Midi-Controller 10 within the Vienna Ensemble[:$],

    2) there is no way to make use of the Midi-Controller 10 within the Vienna Ensemble[|-)],

    3) something else: ...[*-)]

    And, if 2):

Is there any way to control Panning or Power Panning using Midi-Messages?

    Thank you,

    Sebastian

    1. MIDI panning doesn't work by design with Vienna Instruments.
    2. Currently there is no way to automate the VE panning
    3. The way to automate pan is to automate the panning of the audio return in your sequencer.

  • Thank you.

  • ... and yet...

... I am lacking understanding for the pain I am in.

How much did I pay for the VSL First Edition - the "first" Edition I ever bought that contained no looped Samples?

A first Edition that supplied looped samples later - but mainly only to those, who had paid more. And, as it seemed to me, regardless how much of the looped samples based on samples that were inclosed in both the First and Pro Edition.

And now, the VI Instruments/ Ensemble, within my collection of hard- and software music instruments, ... sorry, I can't believe it's really real... no automated panning? Not even some Midi-control over the Power Panning?

All the control I have is using the mouse?

All the feedback I get is via an optical estimation within a field of about 3 square centimeters?

    Oh boy, oh pain.

How about incorporating a control/feedback-feature that operates as follows:

When I use the mouse for changing the Pan, a window shows a value between 0 and 127.

0 for outmost left, 64 for center, 127 for outmost right postion.

    Similiar with Power Panning:

0 to 127 for the position of the Power-Panning-Triangle's middle dot.

And 0 - 127 for the amplitude of the Power-Panning's Triangle.

Double-clicking allows to enter a value via keyboard.
