Hi Randy,
Vienna Instruments will work with OS X 10.4., alzthough this support will expire at some point. Also, the Mac G5 2 GHz will be a little slow, I´m afraid....
Let me know how it goes!
Best,
Paul

Hi Randy,
I´m afraid I´ll have to correct myself there. Vienna Instruments 2.1 need OS X 10.5 or higher, but you can download and install Vienna Instruments 2.0.4017 from the archive of the User Area.
Sorry for that misinformation,
Paul
I just carbon copy cloned my hard drive to a new Dual 2.5 G5 mac from a Dual 2 and having major issues. Please can anyone suggest something.
Randy,
Cloning a system drive form one machine to another is NOT a good idea!!!
The OS is not identical - you can't simply pop a system drive from one machine and pop it into another - well you could try it, but obviously you are having issues.
IF you want a system that simply works, you're going to have to do this the hard way -- but the sure thing.
1. Insert an original Mac OS DVD.
2. Use Disk Utilities and wipe the system drive.
3. Install your OS from scratch.
4. Download and run the latest OS combo updater from Apple. DO NOT use Software Update utility!
5. OK to run Software Update utility for other stuff that is not the core OS.
6. When your machine is stable with the latest OS, THEN install your software from original distributions.
"But this is a pain in the ass!"
Yes. Do you want your machine to work, or not?
Good luck.

Hi Randy,
I´m afraid this is a misunderstanding - the latest version will not work unter OS X 10.4.... you´ll need to get 2.0.4017, available in the archive of the Vienna Instruments software.
Please give it a try, even before you install the OS. Might help.
Best,
Paul
