It looks like deleting everything related to Syncrosoft, LCC, or eLicenser does the trick. 6.0.1.8 is now working with 10.6.1 on my Mac Pro. I deleted the app, everything in Application support, anything in both user and system logs, anything in receipts, including all related entries in the InstallHistory.plist (and then saved the file), and the plist file in user prefs (Thanks, Richard). It then installed OK and is working fine.

I've tried this, following your instructions, but the problem persists on my MacBook Pro, eLicenser Control Center and my USB Key.
Please, can you describe more precisely every folder and file you've deleted, step by step? Do you restarted your Mac before reinstall eLicenser Control Center? Thanks!
Hi all!
I already reported 2 different problems with eLC 6.0.1.8 in combination with Snow Leopard (OS 10.6) to Steinberg and they are currently investigating the problem in order to find a solution
My suggestion for a temporary solution is to remove eLC and to downgrade to LCC version 5.4.18.9, which can be downloaded from here:
http://www.elicenser.net/en/download_archives.html
BEFORE you can install LCC it is necessary to remove eLC. To do this you can use a Unix command in Terminal (to be found in .../utilities). Paste the following command into your Terminal window:
sudo rm -f/var/db/receipts/com.eLicenser.*
It will ask for your administrators password, please type it in and press "Enter". Now you can install LCC.
/Regards,
Maya
I ran the sudo command and am still not allowed to install the previous LCC.

Any help on this? It is one thing for new elicense software not to work. That is understandable. But for it to make it impossible to revert to a previous version, and thus to prevent users from licensing new products, such as the new VE Pro which I have waited so long for, only to discover that now that I have it I cannot use it, is really frustrating. This license company has a very bad history with macintosh, they provide no help or contact info on their website, no uninstaller, no forum, no links, no troublshooting, no meaningful documentation. I understand that they are not VSL, but I am forced to deal with them to use VSL software. They are a company that I would write off in a moment if I had the choice.
Now that my rant is over, I still desperately need to uninstall the Elicenser, and Maya's sudo command did not do the trick for me. Any advice would be appreciated.

i'd say it should be rather marked as *unknown* since the eLicenser as such does nothing but relies on the driver.
be assured it is compatible and working - we have a lot of machines here running W7 having an eLicenser attached ...

ps: i'll suggest to the eLicenser guys submitting the device to microsofts respective department
I'm in the same boat on my Mac. Constant crashes and couldn't add VE Pro licenses till I downgraded. I did that, then reinstalled the new eLicenser which allows me to run the 64 bit server but alas Logic 9 crashes a lot now. I think I'll have to re-downgrade and just use 32 bit until an update is posted. Too bad too as I really like the look of the new eLicenser. The Terminal command line didn't work for me so I had to manually find the package receipts.

Hello, Chris.
I did the same things as you, and I have the new eLicenser installed. I'm running Logic 9 and VE Pro in 64 bit on my Mac. I've been doing a lot of loading of Instruments, and so on in VE Pro with no problems. The eLicenser seemed only to come into play when I wanted to install and register a new VI set. Then it just crashed. I'm wondering if it has to do with the particular Mac, or memory, or whatever else. The 64 bit is worth it. Here's what I'm using;
Mac Pro 2.66, 12 gig memory, Snow Leopard.
