After being frustrated at the insanely long load times in Logic Pro for the first instance of VI, I randomly stumbled on a procedure that loads the first VI almost instantaneously. (Sorry if this is common knowledge already, but I guess I haven't seen it.)
1. Start Logic Pro without the ViennaKey plugged in.
2. Mount the drive with the samples (I'm not sure what happens in case the drive is already mounted).
3. Plug in the ViennaKey.
4. Assign a VI to some audio instrument in Logic and, timpani roll, the VI interface pops up in 30 seconds!
(Used a MacBook Pro 17" 2GB, Mac OS 10.4.7, Logic Pro 7.1)
I'd be curious to know if other users have been able to reproduce the same procedure.
In any case, if it's possible to get around the long first-time load this way, it probably also means that there's a way to implement the fix in the VI software?
