well.. its taking time to first set-up.
i also had problems with syncrosoft. it crashed several times, because it didnt recognized the vienna key. i deinstalled the software, downloaded the actual syncrosoft-exe and put the vienna key in a different usb-slot (i cant really remember when i did that, i think it was nearly after starting the software).
once the key is recognized everything is easy. just seems to be complicated.
log in to vsl.co.at, enter the standard code (with se, i dont think you need the "extended serial", just the standard)... then you get the code for syncrosoft (once the key works, its was no problem to me) and your library is activated in a few seconds..
the video-tutorial is by the way easy to understand. it help me better than the printed version
but maybe i was just lucky and someone from vsl can help you better [:)]
