I took a long time to decide before buying the Pro Edition Cube at $3000 which I only just received. I opted for the Pro Edition for the additonal instuments that aren't offered in the 1st Edition Cube and not for the extra articulations. I could not afford the additional Performance set for $1600 (1st edition) or $2590 (Pro Edition) although I would have dearly loved some legato performances.
So I am very disappointed, as some of the other owners have articulated, that OPUS 1 comes out with most of the instrument plus performance articulations for $899!!!!! Sure, there aren't the same number of articulations, the sampling is not chromatic etc. and the number of samples is probably proportional to the price. But I don't even have a solo viola or double bass which, according to one of the threads, will be made available at additional cost to Pro owners, or any performance instruments at all!!!
At the moment, if I want to buy these, have to spend an additional $899 for the OPUS 1 on top of the $3000 I have already spent.
In all fairness you could have easily announced some time ago, like you have with the Symphonic Cube, that a smaller version of the complete VSL would be available instead of the 10 days to go routine.
So Herb, how about making available to Pro Cube buyers the solo Viola and Double Bass and just as importantly, the additional Performance instruments that are in the OPUS 1?
