  • Just for clarification, are you referring to Server or the Plugin?

  • Iā€™m not sure what you mean. I am referring to the mixer in VEP 7. Is it possible to use Altiverb within VEP?

  • Hi Mark,

does the screenshot below explain how to do it? Just replace the R2 plug-in with Altiverb and you're done.

  • Hi Dietz,

Thank you for the screenshot, but in order for me to understand better, can you tell me what R2 is? Is it a reverb plug in? And how were you able to insert "R2" into the SEND of the source channel. When I click on the send I only see the options to add a Master Bus or a list of Stereo Outputs.

    Thank you :)

  • Forget about "R2", just imagine that the insert reads "AltiVerb" (which I don't have). It works the same with any plug-in that's installed on your system and made available for VEP in its Preferences.

You don't have to insert anything in the "Send" area of a channel, its pull-down simply shows all available target channels (... actually the names you assigned to them). So, once you have created a new Bus by clicking the "+"-sign in the mixer view it will instantly be available as new AUX-send target.

    ... does this help?

  • Hi,

Thank you. I am able to create an Aux track and I'm able to put Altiverb in it. But How am I able to send an instrument channel to the aux if I don't put anything in the send? This is what confuses me. Even in the screenshot you gave me it looks logical. The instrument channel is being sent to the aux for reverb. To reiterate, when I click send in my instrument channel it only offers Bus and Output, no bus options.

I apologize if I'm coming across as dense, but I really am confused by this Lol

    Thank you

Hmmmm ... so you don't see screen 1 (see below) to finally get screen 2?

    YES!!! It Worked!

What did me in I think was not naming my Aux channel, so that when I clicked Send I was expecting to see Bus 1-2 like I do in my DAW. 4 Channel 1 is what's there if the channel is not labeled Aux and that doesn't make sense to me. However, I did in fact route it this way before but was frustrated when I could not see the signal making the meters move on the plugin, and that was because I didn't turn the send pot because that too looks alien to me.

But now I've got it! Thank you for both screen shots, it was very helpful!

Now I can move on in Life!! šŸ˜ƒ

    Thanks a lot!

  • Good to hear!

There were a few strange design decisions being made for VEP, no doubt, but once you get used to that somewhat "reverse" way of thinking (at least for us audio guys) it's actually a powerful concept.

    Enjoy your AUXes! ;-D
