  • SYNCHRON IR's are MIA in Cubase 9.5 & 10.0.30

Having trouble with SYNCHRON-ized Special Editions and Cubase 9.5... I lose the convolution reverb on:

    a) freezing an instrument track in Cubase
    b) rendering a track in place
    c) doing a non-real time audio mixdown

After I unfreeze the track, the convolution reverb comes back. Alas, it does not come back after ā€œrender in placeā€ or doing a non-real time export. I have to do a ā€œreload mixer settings from current presetā€ to get the reverb back.

Iā€™ve attached 2 screenshots: 01.jpg shows what the Convolution Impulse Reverb Module looks like before... 02.jpg shows what it looks like after rendering in place and/or doing a non-real time audio export. As you can see, the IR has disappeared.

I use Cubase 9.5.21 on Win 7 64-bit, with all VSL software up to date.

Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated.

  • I second that.

Also happens to me. Haven't tried freezing and rendering in place, but when I open existing projects, the impulses are missing. Closing and reopening them again solves the issue.

Also on Cubase 9.5, but on a Mac.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the input, I will check right away.

    Hi,

Weird, we cannot seem to reproduce this. But we'll keep trying. This is with Synchron Player 1.1.1644?

Please verify the build number, just to be safe.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul, Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes, I am on 1.1.1644. It also happened with the previous release of SY Player.

  • Hey Paul,

    I'm on 1.1.1621.

I thought that maybe this had something to do with memory, I only have 8Gb on this machine, all the samples are on an external SSD, though. Never run into these issues on VI Pro with MIRx.

  • 16 GB and internal HDD's here... This happens even if there's only one active Synchron Player, and barely anything in RAM. I'd be surprised if this were a memory related issue.

  • Just tried this in Cubase 10.0.30, with the exact same results. IR does not record when freezing VSTi track, and needs to be reloaded when rendering in place, or exporting non-real time. Any updates on this. Thanks!

  • Are there specific impulses for Smart Spheres or FX Strings? The only thing showing is the Epic Orchestra set here.
Latest versions, incl of VEP 7.

  • Installed latest Synchron Player (1.1.1657) - Same problem still exists.

I have noticed the following: When I freeze the instrument channel (using Cubase 10.0.03) and check "Unload Instrument When Frozen" the IR's are not rendered in the resulting audio file, but when I unfreeze the track the IR's are present in the Synchron Player Mixer (and are audible). When I freeze the instrument Channel and do NOT check "Unload Instrument When Frozen," the IR's are not rendered in the resulting audio file, and are missing in the Synchron Player upon unfreezing. Not sure if this can help to pinpoint the problem, but figured it's worth a shot...

"Render in Place" and non-realtime export still behave the same as previously mentioned.

Without the ability to freeze VSTi's to conserve resources, I'm not able to use larger templates, which renders the current Synchron Player (on my setup) unusable. Would love to get this figured out rather sooner than later. Any response by VSL is much appreciated. Thanks much!!

=> FX Strings don't have any IRs, as they were recorded with multiple mics.

=> Smart Spheres were created without IR as well.

Thanks, Paul. Much appreciate the help. I have a job coming up in August, for which I'd like to use the Synchron SE. Hopefully we'll be able to get this sorted before then. Best, -T

  • Just a friendly bump... Trying to get this sorted. Much appreciate the input.

  • Hi,

i have the same problem in Cubase 10.0.30.

    I can only perform a real-time rendering.

I have re-done the same project in Studio One 4.5 and there is no problem there.

  • Same problem here with Synchronized Dimension Brass here. Not only missing IR when render in place, the IR is missing when connect to VEP with new project. Cubase 10.0.30, Latest version of Synchron player, VEP 6.

  • Update: Same behavior with latest version of SYNCHRON Player... 1.1.1680

  • Hi all,

We were able to reproduce the problem with the missing/vanishing IRĀ“s in Cubase with the VST2 version of the Synchron Player plug-in (VST3 seems to be fine though) and the issue is currently being investigated - thanks for your (ongoing) patience!

Hi Marnix, Excellent news. Hopefully this will lead to finding a solution of this issue. Thanks to all at VSL for their (continued) hard work. -T

  • Hi,

I have a quick question: Why are you using VST 2?
