I have had VEP going back to version 1 (I still have the original box and CDs), and have upgrades to Versions 4, 5, and 6. I only had one Vienna key housing all the licenses for VEP and the Vienna instruments I have (Extended Edition). I have been running a VEP server with my DAW (Logic) on a single computer.
Now I want to run VEP server on 2 additional slave machines. I purchased 2 new eLicensers and registered them with VSL on the website. What I am struggling with is getting the proper licenses on the additional eLicencer keys so I can run the VEP server on slave computers. When I try to enter an activation key from my registered VEP licenses I get an error in the eLicenser that says I have no licenses eligible for upgrading. My Vienna key in the eLicenser Control Center shows a "Collection License" for Vienna Symphonic Library for VEP 4, 5, and 6 and it tells me that those are a collection of several licenses that cannot be separated from one another.
I have a feeling I did something wrong years ago at the very start that is causing me problems now.
I know that my VEP (AND Vienna Instruments Pro - I have that too) has 3 licenses, but how do I get those individual licenses to each of my 3 eLicensers so I can run VEP server on 3 different machines?
AND once I have THAT done, do the actual instrument libraries (VSL, EW, Kontakt, etc.) have to reside ON the slave computers themselves or can they load over the network from a SAN or networked disk drive?
Thank you in advance!
