  • PS: I was tempted to post a link to one of Herb Tucmandl's most recent scoring works for "Superwelt" - a movie which has been released in 2015. The score relies completely on seven Grand Pianos all around you, playing very sparsley at an extremely low volume in MIR's Steinhofkirche, mixed by Yours Truely. :-)

Thing is that it seems as the distributing production company has decided that the official trailer needs more conventional, off-the-shelf music, so there's no publicly available source on the net which I could link to ... :-/ ... go figure.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello Dietz,

Thanks you very much for your helpful feedback regarding MIR Pro RoomPack 3 (Mystic Spaces).

I look forward to adding it soon.

  • Hi,

    One more question.

I would like to buy a second RoomPack along RoomPack 3 (Mystic Spaces), that would be more suitable for general orchestral writing applications, I have narrowed it down to RoomPack 2 (Studio & Sound Stages),  and RoomPack 4 (The Sage Gateshead) .   So, between RoomPack 2 and RoomPack 4, which one would you recommend ?

Any feedback would be very helpful.

    Thanks,

    Muziksculp

  • Hard to say. RoomPack 2 (Studio & Sound Stages) will give you more options for smaller, acoustically controlled rooms and a nice medium-sized concert hall (ORF Funkhaus - Großer Sendesaal), but the latter is hardly a replacement for a gorgeous venue like The Sage Gateshead - Hall One.

I strongly suggest to try both RoomPacks before you rule out one - it all comes down to your taste and needs.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Dietz,

I agree, it is not an easy decision, although I got recommendations (on another Forum) for RoomPack 2.

So, I might just endup getting both RPacks 2 & 3, and check RP4 later on,  or as you suggested, I can try both before buying, especially since I get the opportunity to try them both 30 days for Free , before deciding which one to purchase.

    Thanks,

    Muziksculp

  • Hi Muziksculp,

i also just tried all 5 room packs in demo mode for a while and ended up in buying number 2. And as i wanted additionaly a mystic space, i tried around with number 3 and number 5. To my taste a found, that i liked the sound of Pernegg (nr. 5) more than those of nr. 3. So maybe you also should try out that one too :-) .... but as always, its taste :-)

    Kind regards!

    Hi newcreation08,

Thanks for the helpfulf feedback. I will check both RP3 and RP5 in more detaill.

I know it's not easy to describe sounds in words, but if you can express some of the characteristics that you liked more in RP5 over RP3, it would be interesting to know what they are.

    Cheers,

    Hi Muziksculp,

i tried around with different instruments, woodwinds, solotrumpet, strings ... like for an ensemble playing chambermusic in a church. From Pack 3, Steinhofkirche had just a tooo strong reverb. Of course, one can shorten the tail etc., but still ....

And in comparison to the church "Maria Strassengel" to the church in Pernegg (Pack 5), the one in Pernegg to my ears sounded more soft and smooth for the winds. Well ... as i wrote before, its always a matter of taste. But that was my opinion and so i decided for Pack 5 in addition to Pack 2.

    All the best!

Thanks again for your helpful feedback. It looks like both packs 2 and 5 might end up being on my system as well.
