My download rate is down to 60 kB/s. It has been saying 42 hours to go for the last 2 days because the date rate keeps slowly dropping. VSL now has all their products available for download, but the servers have not been upgraded in the process? Once again, I can wait for the strings, it's my computer being tethered for 5 days that I object to.

Indeed VSL team should improve the download system. The speed is tooooooooooooooooooooooo slow.

Its hapenning NOW !!! 6 servers double speed!! still 9 hours only. ( better than 20 h something is it) whoooah!!,where do I put my pillow?@Paul said:
Hi Jack,
Should be much better until noon in Vienna, hopefully before. I´ll let you know as soon as more performance is available, and you should definitely see an increase in download speed then.
Best,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the heads-up of the higher speeds. Unfortunately, it's still underwhelming. I've been downloading for over an hour now and it's just hit 2%. We're looking at over 2 full days to download the whole library.
I do see that you're up to 8 servers now and I'm sure VSL has put many man hours and considerable resources in the effort and I do appreciate that. I can't pretend to know the office politics of VSL (I know VSL likes to keep things in-house) but taking a look at using outside sources for this seems prudent - especially to meet expectations of first time customers. I think expectations are higher from a lot of people out there. For example, I was able to download Loegria from Spitfire via Continuata services in 3 1/2 hours. It was not a lot smaller than Dimension Strings.
Looking forward to an excellent library!

The speed is up now. Thanks Paul and the whole VSL team's effort on it. Hope the speed can keep on.

I couldn't imagine being a first time customer going through this.
46 hours in and I'm now at 50%.... Thank you VSL for the added servers, (However) with 8 servers connected
I'm still looking at 26 hours for the next 50%... This is extraordinary !!!
9 servers now, 15 hours to go.
What's most interesting, is the near silence of those who've been in this community for YEARS.
Far too busy blowing kisses and reminding VSL how much we love them, (we do love you).
But this is unacceptable....

A slightly different procedure.
In Download Manager, select the download, then click the trashcan withOUT the red circle.
That stops the download, but it doesn't delete your 80%.
Double-click the new file that came attached with the email. (I hope that's not corrupted too.)
That opens a new Download Manager window.
The new download checks how much is already on your hard drive. This took about ten minutes here to verify what was roughly 54% loaded.
Then the new download resumes at a faster rate.
I've seen as many as ten servers at work (and maybe "it went to eleven" at some point). Currently at 9 servers, but the rate is holding around 670 kB/s.

William,
Plowman beat me to it....
This is much faster... I'm averaging 1.4 megs per second with about 2 hours to go.

Just purchased the Dimension Strings but when I hit the download button I'm getting this error message
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
I pressed one of the other download buttons of a library I've recently purchased and it works fine.
Can anyone tell me what might be going on?
