Hm... Can I sell then my Opus1 to fund the money for buying First student edition?

Just a personal observation -
Few college students will be able to afford even $1800 on the library (some certainly will - I know students with $10k violas, but it's rare). A much more reasonable alternative for most would be a 50% discount on Opus 1. I hope you'll consider offering that option soon.

It's "qualified" students, not only college students... if not correct me... of course college students are not paying this huge amount... they probably don't buy any sample library... I was thinking more of superior schools of music students who already do some composition, and my question was oriented to Horizon products too, which includes of course Opus [;)]
So, any clue on this?

Iván

Wow, great!
Is there any possibility to get a discount going from Opus1 to First (student) edition?
Maybe I'm just too excited to see straight, but I did not see this question answered. I am very interested, as I just bought Opus 1 this past August due mainly to the fact that illo told me that "we do offer student pricing on our sample packages, and thats why we created Opus 1 for this market. Check with local music stores to see if they offer any discounts" to which I went ahead and bought Opus 1 from Alexander University Inc.
You can see why my heart broke when I saw this deal, for I JUST purchased Opus 1 two months ago, and had I known, would have instead held off for this student first promotion.
Thus I'm wondering, is there anyway to upgrade into this deal from Opus 1? Does your VIP policy of "not paying for the same samples twice" apply in this situation, as the price of Opus 1 DOES already apply to a normal upgrade to First Edition?
Thank you in advance for your understanding and reply. Even though I'm a new user, I LOVE VSL and hope to be a continued proud promoter of your sample packages at CSUN, especially this wonderful "student first" deal! [:D]

I perfectly understand your thoughts. Still I'd like to point out two things:
1. There has never been any upgrade path from Opus 1 to the First Edition. We'll keep it that way. When you upgrade from Opus 1 to the Pro Edition, the full price of Opus 1 is credited.
2. This First Edition Student promotion offers the Complete Orchestral Package at a way discounted price, so even if there was an upgrade path from Opus 1 to the First Edition, we couldn't allow for both at the same time, 50 % discount AND upgrade discount.
So, I'm sorry to say, and to answer the original question, there is no discount in this case.
All the best, Martin

Why does everyone have to be having sales when I have no money? Will you be having a sale like this in a year or so? Cause I was thinking about getting Opus sometime with in a year (basically whenever I have enough money to do so), but if there would be another sale any time soon, I'd try to wait for that.

Dear tgfoo,
Sales are never planned in advance. But saving for Opus 1 is worth it [:D]
