    This Fall we are happy to offer all students a special opportunity to get into our big libraries:

    The Vienna Symphonic Library offers its complete FIRST EDITION for half price for all qualified students. The discount is available from October 1st through November 15th, 2004.

    With the purchase of a STUDENTS’ FIRST EDITION the user is automatically enrolled in the upgrade program of the Vienna Symphonic Library (VIP) and is eligible to upgrade to the PRO EDTION for the reduced VIP upgrade price at any later date. Students will have to fax in their official student ID or submit any other qualified proof of enrollment to receive their personalized copy of the Vienna Symphonic Library.

    I recall VSL mentioning sometime ago a 95% off Impoverished Composers' Discount. Whatever happened to that? It was something Herb mentioned if I recall correctly.

    I'm perfectly willing to submit photos as proof.

    But seriously. No I am not currently registered at any college and am not a student. But I am a teacher, so student discounts interest me and my students.

    does the discount apply to educators as well as students? If one already ownes the cube can the discount be used on only the performance set?

    The discounts applys to the Complete Orchestral Package only, and for students only, not for educational institutions or teachers.

    Herb, could you please tell us if this is actually including the Horizon or if there is a special discount for Opus users? It may very well change the balance between getting VSL or other samples for budget reasons... as a student I am, those are awesome news!

    Just a personal observation -

    Few college students will be able to afford even $1800 on the library (some certainly will - I know students with $10k violas, but it's rare). A much more reasonable alternative for most would be a 50% discount on Opus 1. I hope you'll consider offering that option soon.

    It's "qualified" students, not only college students... if not correct me... of course college students are not paying this huge amount... they probably don't buy any sample library... I was thinking more of superior schools of music students who already do some composition, and my question was oriented to Horizon products too, which includes of course Opus [;)]

    So, any clue on this?

    this 50% discount doesn't include the Horizon Series, it applies to the First Edition Complete Orchestral Package exclusively.
