Just to say I'm very pleased with the Apassionata Strings!
Wonderful sound, and a great asset to the other Vienna strings.
Just one little sidenote (already been mentioned by other people but I need to add my voice here): what a pity VSL didn't offer the same expressions for the AP Basses... And...why? Bass players tired?
But don't let this tone down the rest of my praise, it's a beautiful set, thanks VSL!
Most of all, I'm really grateful for the fx-section, something very needed in my line of work (game soundtracks). Fact is, no matter how much I appreciate (and of course need) all common expressions, in order to paint otherworldly landscapes and alien civilisations I often need something more than let's say, sustained vibrato or portamento.
Although it's just a limited set offered here, the clusters, detuned attacks and random pizzi are incredibly useful and were exactly what I needed to convince the creative director of my chosen aproach and sound. I most strongly hope the addition of FX is a tendency that will be continued and expanded by VSL.
So please, more of these!!!
Alex
