  • Patch Matrix Presets

    Hello,

Where do I put the 'patch matrix presets' that are in my user account.
I work on a Mac Quad but it is not on the internet. I have to download things on a pc.

    Greetings,

    Gerard

  • you could use a USB stick or burn them on CD to transfer the files ... or *abuse* some USB or firewire harddisk ...

  • Hello Christian,

I understand that of course. But my question is: where do I put the files on my mac. I assumed that downloading them directly on the mac would maybe automatically install them in the right place. That's why I explained that I download them first on my pc.
So where, in which folder, do I put these files when I transferred them from the pc to the mac?

  • Hi g.beljon,

I'm not sure what "patch matrix presets" you are referring to exactly but...

When you first set up the Cube, you specified a folder for Presets. If you have forgotten where this was, try this:
    Open VI Directory Manager
Click on the <Custom folders...> button
A path will be shown below - this should be the folder where VI's look for presets.

As far as I know, your files can be put in there. (If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone from the VSL team will correct me)

    Regards - Colin

  • Hello Musos,

I am referring to the section 'manuals' in the Vienna Instruments user area.
I think this must be files that contain pre-fabricated presets and matrixes, which I are always handy [:D] .
I can of course put them in my custom folder, I am just not sure if that is right.

    Greetings,

    Gerard

  • gerard, every product comes with a file *packege.info* and a series of .cab-files (downloads have the package.info zipped to force download and avoid some application will open it) - just move all related files to a folder, say /VIappVi/, then launch the Vienna Instruments Installer, point to the location you just collected the files and: go

the presets only show up if you a) have run the installer (and not copied the already installed files from another location) or b) added the data paths in the direcory manager

  • Hello again Gerard,

Aha....the files you are referring to are really Manuals - they are pdf files which give detailed info about all matrixes and presets for each product. Use Acrobat to open them.

These are not extra pre-fabricated settings.....

    Hope this helps
