Sorry if this is a silly question, but I have a problem using Logic 7.2.3 as a host for Vienna Instruments. Hopefully one of you regular Logic users can help me out.
My main sequencer is on a G5 with a RME card with Cubase as its program. I use a MACBook Pro dual core 2.16 as a slave computer. On this computer I use Logic to host VI Brass library. The audio interface on this computer is a MOTU traveler, and is connected in and out through the ADAT connectors into the main daw.
When I trigger a brass patch loaded into Logic it seems as if the signal passes through logic at too high a level, I get distortion even though teh Logic meters are not registering an overload, Also, when I check the system performance meters all looks good there as well. The only solution I have is too lower the meters anywhere from 4db to 14db, depending on how many simultaneous notes I want to play, to stop the distortion. Also, the G5 with Cubase shows no sign of stress.
Question, is there an impedance mismatch ? (If digital audio has such a problem). Or is there a setting in Logic I have not been able identify to rectify the situation.
Anyt htoughts? I hope my explanation is clear. I am a novice with Logic.
