I'm wondering whether it would be possible to include metadata in matrix and preset files giving the total RAM usage? It would be really handy to know this *before* loading a preset or matrix.

    Just a thought.

[EDIT -- obviously, it would be possible to add this, manually in the Mac Finder, or in the file name, but I'm thinking of something that shows up in the info window on the VI itself.]

  • It does tell you ( at least in the VST version ) - Just single click on the matrix/patch and it shows the data in the scopelike centerwindow

  • huh? I know it shows you when the instrument's loaded, but before?... I'll check again.

  • Well, the sexy, glassy info window in the middle shows the size of individual patches, but not matrices or presets. At least that's how it looks on my machine... It would be nice to have the size required to load a preset or matrix listed the same way as patches. If mine's supposed to do that then I'm definitely curious as to why it doesn't....(??)

  • The first line of the info text shows the RAM requirement of each patch, matrix and preset file, which is actually selected (not loaded) in the browser menu on the left side.

  • hmm... I did discover that the middle window shows RAM requirements for "factory" presets and matrix files, but not for ones I created myself... Is it possible that somethings happened to my preset and matrix files, or is it only supported for factory presets and matrices?

  • Hi,

this is a feature for factory presets, matrices and patches only.
