I have just completed a Logic environment to help with modwheel switching between matrix cells. I made this to solve the problem I had with a standard modwheel on a keyboard: whenever I switch between say, 2, 3 or 4 matrix cells, I record lots of unnecessary CC1 values when all it needs for a 3 way switch is 0, 64 and 127, not all the guff inbetween those values.
This lets you quickly choose (with mouse) between normal modwheel (all values), a 2 way switch (0 and 127), a 3 way switch (0,64 and 127) and a 4 way switch (0, 35, 100 and 127) plus a CC1 to CC11 transformer. It's a bit complex as it also needs to let all other data through (notes and pitchwheel etc)
I'm sure this must be easier if you have a physical MIDI controller with switches or pedals but this works for me at the moment. It's quite complex so I'd appreciate any Logic environment experts opiniuons on whether it could be simpler.
If you are interested in beta testing this one for me please email me via the contact button on my site and I'll send you the ready made environment (I don't think I can send attachments to this forum?)
