  • Sudden clicks

    Hello

I've been using VI since almost a year now...WOW....already! And I've been experiencing some weird things lately :

I composed a music about 6 months ago using 9 VI on Vstack. At that time everything was running very good. Then a new update for the VI came out.

Today I want to rework some of the orchestration I've done on this music and some audio clicks appear. It is when I use perf legato for VI 1 & 2, Clar. I also use the combination of rep_stac and rep_por_fa for cellos, violas and bass. The CPU perf is, at the most used, at 50 % of its capacity.

My computer is exactly the same as before. Would it be the newest version of the Vienna I that could make this happen ?

I tried to mute violins 1 and/or 2 and the clicks disappear...

    Any idea?

  • I've overclocked my CPU from 3.2 Ghz to 3.6 and less clicks pop up. Still some. It's kind of weird since the CPU performance is really low.
I think the VI runs in a way that if you put too many articulations on a fast tempo for a lot of iterations of VI you'll get clicks, even if your computer is fast.

I hope the next update will be optimized for core duo 2 (I already have one for the master/mixing PC)

  • I tried something different.

Since I realized the bank for this cue are all on the same HD (7200 rpm SATA) I split them on 2 separate HD. The result is almost perfect. SO : the pb is that the Vstack HDD performance viewer is not as acruate as it should be : it said HDD use : 0 %

I might go to buy 10000 rpm HDD ! [:)]

Thank you for my help [;)]
