  • Installing Vienna Instruments without a Viennakey ?

I just got the Vienna Instruments symphonic cube. Time & Space rang me last week and told me that they were out of stock of the Viennakey, but I could install the library without it so they sent me the Cube and I have set aside this weekend to install it ready for when my ViennaKey arrives.

Trouble is I can't firgure how to install the library without the key. According to the instructions I need the Viennakey to install. I tried running the Software installer without the key, it apeared to install but no Vienna Instruments app icon in my OS X applications folder, which I believe should be necessary to start the library installation.

I also tried installing from DVD 1/4, where there are two install icons. Neither worked.

Does this mean I have to wait for the Viennkey?

  • sorry pete for the misinformation or misunderstanding.
in case you have any other syncrosoft USB protection device (eg. from steinberg) you could use this one for the moment.

Does thant mean I can't install the library until I get the Viennakey? (it still hasn't arrived)

In which case the misinformation isn't from you, it's from Time & Space. (Idon't like them anyway as they send me junkmail)

What is the Steinberg one? I just want to get this library intsalled.

unfortunately yes ... like the XSkey is holding the license for logic/exs the ViennaKey (which is in fact a syncrosoft USB key) holds the license for Vienna Instruments. you should get such a blank key from a shop selling steinberg products, because they also use this type of protection device.

ps: i've already informed our sales&delivery dept. about this issue to help avoiding such an inconveniance in the future.
