    Hello,

    I see this thing mentioned in my Quad's processes display. It also says there that it 'is not reacting'. What does this all mean?

    *daemon* is the unix flavour of a *service* - the VSLdeamon and the VSLserver are part of the Vienna Instruments sample streaming engine.
    it does say *not responding* because there is no direct output and therefore it does not *respond* with anything to the GUI

    yes i have been meaning to ask that same question.

    so "VSLdaemon not responding" is nothing to worry about?

    nothing to worry about - i just don't have a mac here right now to check, but i'm pretty sure there are also other daemons listed and *not responding*
