  • Jazz Saxophone Quartett and new Bass Clarinet demo

I'm proud to announce our first saxophone quartett performing a Jazz-style demo:
Phil Wood's "Three Improvisations - Presto" expertly performed by Robert Bernhard.

Jay Bacal focused this time on our bass clarinet and sent us this refreshing interpretation of Eugene Bozza's "Ballade for Bass Clarinet"

    thanks a lot
    Herb

  • Robert-- I've never heard this piece before-- very cool. I love the harmonies and rhythms. Nice to hear VSL in the jazz idiom.

    Best,
    Jay

  • Hey, I just realized that Robert is the musician who actually played the real saxes to make the VSL samples, and now he's playing the samples to sound like real saxes. I hope this doesn't cause some sort of rip in the space-time continuum. [:D]

    Hey, that's pretty funny actually...

I guess in some ways he's playing everybody's pieces that has sax in it. [[:|]]

  • Jay, good phrasing on that bass clarinet demo, it makes a noticeable difference when the breathing is felt.

Listening to all the new sax demos I want to get that now...

  • Hello Jay,
As usual I allways wait your demo before to buy new things..

You allways convinced ( not sure about my english!)me : so I just ordered the saxophone..
Great taste of instrument's articulation and your maitrise ( knowledge) of technical follow the musical idea of composers
    Thanks again for your sharing

  • Thanks Guy, Dup and rg.

Richard -- I very much enjoyed your fine clarinet playing on your web site. Were the strings on your Chopin nocturne arrangement a mix of samples and real players?

    Best,
    Jay
