  • What is the best monitor size for the VI interface?

    Hello,
I'm close to purchasing two new monitors, and since I will be purchasing some VIs in January, I'm wondering about the best aspect ratio/size for the VI interface?

From the looks of it, 19" 4:3 (or 5:4 in most cases) ideal -- if I could get away with 17" though, that'd be great as I'd like to occupy as little space over my keyboards as possible. Monitors will be used solely for VI, so a 16:9 ratio doesn't seem necessary or enhancing. Is that right?

Would love to hear some of your opinions.

    Thanks,
    Mahlon Bouldin

  • I don't know - for me the bigger the monitor, the better - but 17" and 19" monitors both display the same number of pixels (1280 x 1024).

  • Well, the VI interface needs at least a resolution of 1024x768.

So, I guess anything higher than that is good, so that you can still see some things besides the VI interface.

    A 30" will do...

    I think that'd give me neck-strain... [[;)]]

  • At least one could see everything at once! [:P]

  • Ok, thanks for the replies. I suppose 1280x1024 standard 19" would be the very good. From the video demonstrations it looks as if a 16:9 would offer no advantage for the VI inteface.
