I'm not sure... it seems to me that the dynamics remain flexible but the articulations are "locked". But when you're talking about basically using all the RAM during the course of the piece, then RAM optimization is kind of a moot point, isn't it?
I am kind of confused about your piece, though... Such a tiny RAM improvement would imply that you're using almost all the pitches for all the articulations; is that really the case?? I suppose it's not too hard to imagine, over the course of an 18-minute concert piece, but still, that seems like a *lot* of articulation switching...
