    thanks a lot Guy

  • Hi Guy,

Fun middle-Eastern flavored piece. You got a lot of mileage out of the those bonus Sopranos. Almost got them speaking words [[:|]] . Clever. I hope your muse continues inspiring you.

    Best,
    Jay

  • Jay, as weird as it may seem, that was the idea, to make up a language....

  • I just accept what he does I don't ask questions [:D]
    Miklos.

  • god the vsl harp sounds so good [;)]
i fear i'll have to get one soon ...

  • I agree, the Harps are particularly nice, and very comprehensive sample set too.

    Miklos.

  • The choir piece is absolutely beautiful! Guy, your composing is wonderful. Such great emotion.

I love the fast string lines and the choir!!

    Nicely done!!

I dont know how to write for fast string lines? You obviously cant play them.

    How do you do it?

    Tanuj.

    Thanks,

I go mainly by my instinct, as simple as that, maybe 5% tricks but then I spent the other 95% in refining what I want and it's all in VI, no plug ins...other than Altiverb through Miklos for the final mix. It may sound like a cop out but it's the best and most honest answer I could think of.[[;)]]

  • Hey Guy, How DID you get those really fast string lines? Are those just orchestral string VI's played really fast, or did you have to do something more with it?

I haven't been able to splurge on the VI's yet, but this demo is one more step in that direction... seriously, you VSL guys have officially blurred the line so much (in a good way!) that I can't hear samples here, I can only hear a real orchestra. WOW.

  • Yes Guy, The string lines are tremendous. I don't know if you'd be wiling to post any of your midi (and FXP's), but it would go a tremendous way in giving some insight into how to really use this tremendous instrument Herb and Co. have provided.

Of course if the magician isn't ready to give out his secrets I totally understand, but I'd love to see how you finesse the string lines.

  • Wow, I guess my word-o'-the day is tremendous. [:D]
