  • Effect Error Message

I'm using The Woodwinds VI on a Mac g4 (OSX 10.47) with DP 5.1. Everytime I open
a saved project in DP, I get this Effect Error message saying "unable to locate
Vienna Instruments plug-in. I've tried saving the preset separately in the VI, but that didn't work either. Each time I open an exisiting project in DP, I have to reload the Woodwinds VI presets.

I have upgraded to the latest version of the VI.

    Thanks,

    Tom[/i]

  • Hi Tom,

have you tried creating a new Custom Folder with the Directory Manager? That might at least solve the missing Preset problem ... As for DP not finding the plugin, hopefully someone else will step in as I'm not familiar with it. Could be a path problem, too, though. You could try re-installing VI - get version 1.1 if you haven't done so yet.

    Kind regards,
    David

  • Saving the preset in the VI is the way to go and the first step.

What you might need to do is to go to Directory Manager, dump everything in there, then drag your VI folders back in for a fresh start. Also, drag in your custom folders.

For a long time I could only add the folders one at a time with the DM's buttons, but that bulk drag and drop thing works well now-- what a time saver!

Shut down your computer (don't use Restart). I learned on this forum that shutting down completely dumps stubborn references better than simple restarting.

Start up again and all should be well... (I hope...)
