  • ViennaKey is already registered for another user

I hope this is the right place to post my 'issue'... My Orchestral Strings vanished along with a message about a licence expiring. My first thought was to check and see what I have registered with VSL, but when I input my ViennaKey Code, it says it belongs to someone else... I suppose I could have registered it under another name, but I doubt it.

If there is anyone with VSL that could help me out - I would appreciate it. As far as the missing instruments, I'll reinstall (I guess) and see what new and wonderful frustrations await me... Thanks to anyone that can offer moral support...

    Unknown.

Update: OK, that was quick. Can't reinstall because it says, 'The following licences are needed... ' and lists Violinen (14) Basic, and Violen (10) Basic. So, basically, I'm screwed... HELP.

  • Score-- curiously, what computer are you running?

If you had everything running at one time and then it suddenly stopped working, it is a Syncrosoft issue. Your Vienna Key is most likely just fine.

Try clearing out everything in your VI Directory Manager and reload all your instrument folders.

If you are on a Mac, you may need to shut down completely after this and reboot. Restarting is not as effective to clear stubborn UNIX references.

That should do it. Otherwise, uninstall and reinstall Syncrosfot LCC-- and whenever you see a warning about your licenses, don't panic. It just sounds as if some Extended license has expired.

LCC tends to overreact, and needs to be "pimp-slapped" every once in a while.

  • Just to be clear:

After you registered with VSL, you got another long series of numbers which are used to download the licenses from Syncrosoft to your Vienna Key-- correct?

  • score, it seems you have registered a second time when you registered your solo strings standard library (april) - i could resolve this and consolidate both accounts. but additionally it looks like you never registered your orchestral strings I standard library (received august?) and so meanwhile used up all the demo starts which came with your ViennaKey (not only for the extended but also for the strings I standard).

now you cannot re-install the orchestral strings, because the installer does not see a respective license - please register your strings I and you will receive an activation code to download the license for the standard library to your ViennaKey, although you will still have no licenses for the extended libraries of both collections then.
