Hello,
I can't seem to keep the VSL VI from crashing constantly.
My system is:
WinXP SP2 3.ghz, 1.5gb ram, with of lots internal hard drives, Sonar 5 Producer, Onyx400F interface, Symphonic Cube.
When I load the VI as stand-alone or as VST in Sonar at first its fine.
But when I replace the loaded preset, patch, matrix with a different one
the newly loaded preset, patch, matrix does not work correctly.
The problems are numerous:
- Notes are getting cut short and only lasting 1 second or less when they should be sustained
- GUI has areas that disapper ie the Data Display and the Wheel.
- I can't remove the current preset, patch, or matrix or add new ones.
- The "please wait..." message when loading a file never goes away.
- If I open something else like a folder on my Desktop it make elements of the gui disappear as well and they won't come back.
- When I load a new or replace the current preset, patch, or matrix I have latency that was not there before. I have found that this is scalable. The low notes sound right away butas I climb up the chromatic scale there is more and more latency, thats a weird one.
- I only hear the release samples of the newly loaded files but none of the attack or sustain portion.
The list goes on. All that happens stand-alone or as VST.
I cannot work like this.
I'm trying really hard not be negative and angry as I have had nothing but problems since I got the Cube. I keep putting the blame on myself but I'm quickly realizing that I'm not the problem.
I've reinstalled it a dozen times. I've cleaned out the registry for any lingering links as well. Same problems.
I've emailed tech support and all I get is silence. They are probably up to thier necks in support issues.
I thought GS was buggy. This VI has it beat by light years in the instability catagory. I was able to turn GS around and stablize it but I'm not sure its possible with this beast.
Where do I look for potential issues? I have a M-audio Delta1010 laying and I'll see if that makes any difference at all.
I'm willing to re-install windows if I have to but if that does not fix it I will go nuts for sure. I would have to reinstall and configure many time consuming things.
I can't believe that $5000 software is this buggy.
Please help.
