  • Error 198...when using Lib-Updates

I'm trying to install the Library Updates I got from the VSL VI downloads pages after I registed.

The library, LCC, and VI are installed and work fine but when I go to do the updates I get an Update Error saying "Unable to parse volume inner directory" then Protection Error 198 dialog box comes up.

The Directory Manager shows all of my folders. One issue I had was I moved a couple of folders manually from one hard drive to another. Then when I ran the DM again and did a rescan nothing changed in the list. I had to manually remove folders of the moved files and add the new locations one by one (no way to select multiple folders).

    System:
    VI Cube
    P4 3ghz
    1.5gb RAM
    WinXP SP2

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA!!

  • Hmm .. sounds like a permissions problem at first blush. Though hopefully one of the VSL guys will suggest a good fix I would serioously look at locating your VI content on a neutral drive just to be sure.

  • Hi Dragon 33,

just to make sure: You are using the latest VI version, right?
Adn you moved the whole content of the folders?

I would unassign all folders and then assign them once again.

BTW: Use drag and drop (from the Win Explorer) to add more than one folder!

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks guys!

I removed all the folders and added them again via Win Explorer.

I stil have the same problem.

I'm running the 1.06 version of the installer.

    Thanks,
