  • Solo Strings VI Installation problems - Please help!

    Hi all,

    I'm on a P4 3.2ghz machine with 1.5gb of RAM runnng WinXP SP2.

Just installed Solo Strings VI. Used all the latest installers for the Key and software.

Install finished with no issues. Llibrary was copied successfully to the hard drive. Syncrosoft activation / VSL registration all went without a hitch. The
LCC shows I have the Solo Strings Collection. Application Instances says 2 of Max. Unlimited. What does that mean?

I went to launch the stand alone version and got an error message about solo violin error:

    =
    Syncrosoft License Control - Error

Application 'Solo Strings - Violin' has caused the following error:

Wrong entry instruction (possibly old ICode version):
    =

Before that error comes up I get a "starting up. please wait" message and then the error window comes up.

Then I tried the VSTi version in Sonar 5 Producer and it hang on Vienna Instrument when I refreshed the VSTi plugins list.

I have tried to reinstall the VI with no luck, same thing happens again.

Please help! What did I do wrong

dragon, we notice this issue to show up on some systems using syncrosoft's LCC 5.0.7.0 or 5.0.8.0 - so far it could be fixed relying on LCC 5.0.6.2 (download here ) or wait for 5.0.8.1 which should be available on the syncrosoft download page soon

    Thanks for the reply.

I downloaded and installed the version you pointed me to, thanks!
But, now when I run the standalone VI nothing happens at all.

I see in the Task Manager that Vienna Instruments process is running and
taking about 16mb of ram but its at 0 CPU and no GUI comes up.

I also notice that there is no SYNCRO process like there was before.

    Thanks,
    Dragon33

  • ouch - hopefully none of the files has been corrupted .... have you killed the synsopos manually? if jes, you need to reboot.
if that does not help i'd recommend to uninstall both: ViennaInstruments and LicenseControlCenter from Settings - Control Panel - Software. then reboot.
after this please re-install LCC (first) and then ViennaInstruments (you have now to add the VIdata folders using the directory manager)

in case this doesn't help also, try to use system recovery going back to a point where no LCC 5.0.7.0. has been ever installed.

  • good to hear you're up and running again and thanks for your valuable feedback.
meanwhile we also installed 5.0.8.1 on some machines and no further flaws appeared so far.
