  • Vienna Standard & Extended purchase help

    Dear all,

Just a quick question: If I purchase the standard Vienna Instruments library, how do I go about upgrading to the extended version when I get the finance? I could not see an option to purchase the extended library on its own.

Sorry if this subject has already been discussed but I'm quite new to the VSL scene!

    Thanks everyone and happy composing!

  • Hi there,

Basically you buy a set of discs that contain all of the library .. but depending on what license you buy that determines which parts of it that you can use.

So if you buy the standard library you get an upgrade price to the extended library but you have all the files on the discs that you bought. You need to buy a Vienna Key as well which is the thing that contains your licenses and allows the player to open up the particular parts of the library that you own.

I heartily reccomend any of the VI's as I've been plaing with the Chamber Strings yesterday .. did a rendition of John Barry's "Beyondness of things". It's in my new podcast show if you wanna listen. (http://www.elvenmusic.com/podcast/podcast.html)

I need to mix it a little more before I put it on general release but I'm damned proud of the sounds from the VI.

  • Hi Hetoreyn,

Thanks very much for the information. I have been listening to all the demos available and have been quite impressed! Just checked out your music as well and it's truly excellent!. You should be very proud.

Best wishes to you and thanks, keep up the awesome compositional work!
