  • Velocity & ASDR & Sharing Custom Matrixes

I notice that some of the patches need adjustment on the ADSR as switching between notes requires to adjust the release to sound natural. It seems this is needed because the samples are so dry (no ambience, unlike the East West Collections).

In addition, some of the patches also have harsh, unnatural sounding velocity changes. I noticed this while making a custom matrix of Violins - Staccato, Portamento & SusVib. I had to adjust the ADSR and volume levels. I also put in the lower cell Violins-PerfLegato to add a bit of richness underneath the Portamento and SusVib which seemed to help with the CC1 controller, switching between Portamento & SusVib. I understand this could be from how I play and every sample library is different.

My matrix ended up sounding great after tweaking for awhile specifically the ADSR in each cell and the volume of each cell. Here's what it consisted of:
Violins Stacc -----> Violins Portamento (with Perf Legato underneath in lower cell) ----> Violins SusVib (with Perf Legato underneath in lower cell)

Finally, can we setup a user forum link to share custom matrix files? Would this cause problems for the directory manager? This would be a great resource for VSL Cube users.
