    boy, I can't even get it started! Finally, I get everything installed, and now I can't get my MIDI controller to work. I set the stand alone to the appropriate channel, but it won't play in my sequencer app. How do you even assign different MIDI channels from within the application? My platform is Digital Performer 4.61, and I run it on a G5 2.0 OSX 10.4.2.

    Try instantiating the VI instruments as virtual instrument plugins within Digital Performer. This is much more convenient than using the standalone. If you must access the standalone, activate the IAC driver in Audio MIDI Setup, create one port and use that to connect to the single MIDI channel the standalone provides.
