  • Installation problems! HELP!

    I can't install my instruments.

I just got solo strings and chamber strings. I have followed the video tutorial for installation/registration carefully and have the latest software and syncrosoft versions installed.

I have done the following with both libraries:

    1. I started the library installer from my apps folder and chose the package.info file on Solo Strings DVD #1 only to receive an error message about 10 minutes into installation indicating that the package contents cannot be read and are possibly corrupt.

    2. I then copied all of the contents of the disk to my desktop and ran the installer application, choosing the package.info file from the copied contents of the disk. (I did this thinking maybe my drive was overheating). I had the same result. 10-15 minutes in to the install, I received the error message.

    3. I decided to try one more thing. I took my Powerbook and booted into target mode so I could use the drive remotely. Again, I had the same result.

    4. Thinking this may be a bad disk, I then repeated these steps with Chamber Strings DVD #1. I had the same result on all accounts. [[:|]]

Any ideas? I would love to install these products.

    Thank you!

  • welcome 1204mtview,
please check the disk if there is aviewable scratch or similar (we had 2 or three physically damaged disks so far) - if you cannot see such an obvious harm it is most probable a heat problem. i'm only wondering it ocures also on two drives - do the DVDs feel hot after 10 minutes of copying? please try to pause between.
unfortunately we have to notice this issue with certain series of drives from pioneer and LG (eg. sony is using re-labeled LG drives)

  • There are viewable scratches on both solo strings and chamber strings DVDs. I would think that if it were an overheating issue, I could copy the disks to the desktop and run it from there. Correct?

Its a shame that neither of the instruments can be installed!

Thank you for your quick reply.

  • if your disks are physically damaged please contact your dealer or directly our distributor (in your case i'd asssume ILIO) to receive a replacement.
