  • more registration problems.....

    Hi,
I own Vienna Instruments Chamber Strings. For some reason I no longer have any of the advanced articulations (e.g. fast repetition performance files, sul portamentos, etc.)
Why on earth is this? I was under the impression that I had the extended library.
My Syncrosoft key recently said that I only had so many starts left, and I recently got a new computer, etc.

Do I NOT have the extended library? Do I need to buy more? VERY confused.

This is an absolutely HORRIBLE problem for me. I have already missed deadlines because of this.

  • Did you pay for the Extended library? Have you registered it and transferred the licence to the dongle?

It sounds as if there is no licence on your dongle for the Extended version and you have been working with the "free" starts, which have now run out.

  • I guess that's the case.
I suppose after 5 months I got used to the extended library samples.
Why were the extended library samples on my computer, though, if I haven't paid for them???
Can I simply pay for the license online and get access to them again?

  • The Extended samples are always installed and are given a certain number of free starts. There is no way to install the Standard content without the Extended samples. It seems rather strange that you managed to use them for 5 months as I thought that the free starts ran out after 30 days. I would check to see whether or not you did pay for them before you try to pay again. It is very easy to check; just have a look at the on-line shop and see which price you paid. If you have paid then it would be the "Full" price (unless you are entitled to a VIP discount).

  • Honestly, this is why I am so confused......I have definitely used more than the 30 or whatever starts on the dongle
I can't find this online shop, I'm sorry. Is it in my user area or someting?

  • sorry again, I found it......
I just have the standard library.
This is VERY weird. I have been using the extended library for MUCH longer than I should have [[:|]]

  • Lucky you!

Probably your VI ran on the general Demo license, which allows 180 starts ... Have a look in the Syncrosoft LCC if you want to find out. Naturally, we want you to get addicted to the Extended Library. [[;)]]

  • nine9tonerow, i've resent the activation code to you but it seems a *pending license problem* occured. please try to resume an iterrupted license download - unfortunately i can not say if this is related to the standard or the extended license

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Thanks a million to all at VSL.....
Anytime I use this forum, my problems are resolved usually within a day. Great work, indeed!

  • ...just wanted to mention that I had a wonderful syncrosoft belch today: VI wouldn't validate because of the rather understated error, "1".

    hmm...

Luckily, unplugging/replugging the key, logging out/in, dancing naked in the English rain, and sacrificing a local virgin got it working again...

...but seriously, the last thing I did was to run the LCC, which recognized all the licenses. Maybe that did it?

    Perhaps Saraswati would know. :-\

though I doubt even _she_ understands the many-coloured moods of Syncrosoft.

  • on a follow-up to this little tale...

Had the same problem this morning: error type "1"

I do have two keys connected to the machine, so maybe that's the problem (but this is _much_ easier than transfering back and forth using the LCC... so if it's not officially supported, it should be).

    Solution

    1) Logout to kill any and all related processes (easier than kill, kill, kill...)
    2) launch LCC
    3) verify that it sees all the licenses on both keys (always does)
    4) quit LCC and re-launch Logic
    5) happy!
