  • 24 bits with 3.0??

ok i'll be the 1st to ask the stupid question . i seem to remember some discussion about the pro edition being intially released as 16 bit -THEN when 3.0 is released a option to upgrade to 24 bit. is that still on the table ?? also is there any price change to reflect the 16 bit release??
    thanks for the announcement..

  • It depends when Giga 3.0 is ready.
Also the Pro Edition is larger, than we expected. Even in 16 Bit we go close to 250 Gigabyte datasize.

We got so much feedback, that a 16 Bit version is strongly recommended, so we plan to offer a dual version with our upcoming harddisc release.

It's impossible to make a dual Release for the Pro Edition on DVDs cause of the Datasize.

An option for our Pro edition users could be, that we offer a 24Bit Pro Edition Harddisc parallel with the Symphonic Cube.

We didn't make final desicions at the moment, but I don't think it's a great problem to ship this harddiscs and you pay only for adminstration, and hardware costs.

Hopefully harddisc space will be much cheaper in half a year [:)]

    best wishes

  • Mike,

I just wanted to take the time to post how generous this is on 2 fronts and your post is the perfect place to do it. BTW I thought it was a good question [:)] .
The original printed concept of the pro edition had it 210 giga bytes at 24 bits. With this version coming out at around 250 giga bytes in 16 bit, you are receiving around twice as much material as VSL originally intended. That's practically amazing. I think when people who bought the first edition figure this out, most will have a hard time not justifing the upgrade.

The 2nd offer when going to 24 bit is also a generous offer and rewards owners for their loyalty. Well done!

  • Ok...I'd just like to take the opportunity to say a big DITTO to everything Craig just said. The VSL team is among the very few that seems to come up with viable solutions to almost every request or question...within hours! In my book that's outstanding! [:D]
