  • Virtual Instruments Mag Features VI

Thought I would give everyone the heads up on the latest issue of VI Magazine (composer/editor Nick Batzdorf's excellent publication.) I haven't read a word but the interface is featured on the cover and looks so cool. I've yet to read an issue that didn't have numerous helpful and informative articles so I'm sure this one is no different. Can't imagine anyone around here will be bothered too much by this post in any case. [[;)]]

  • I just saw this, and I assure you I most certainly AM bothered by it.

    [6]

  • That is a totally outrageous statement!

Another excellent issue Nick. Once again answers I need are right there. For example the 3gb switch tweak is laid out with great clarity so I don't have to go online now and research that when I do it - which I will. The plugin reviews are great. A review of a composer (Jerry Gerber) and the Thomas J. Berenson article on scoring/orchestrating and tons of other great stuff.

You're kicking serious ass in the biz.

  • Where is Mattias's Laatido /3GB utility? I need it bad [:D] !! Can't find it anywhere.

    Thanks,
    Jay

Our web person must be away if she hasn't put the link up yet. Sorry about that.

  • Thanks,Nick [[:D]] [[:D]] !

    Best,
    Jay

  • While we're on the subject. Do I understand correctly that there's a certain risk in doing the tweak to a program that is not naturally LAA? More to the point does anyone know someone who's used the switch with Plogue?

  • Mattias says you should make a back-up of the aesiijv a;ioersrr azdpv9pua weirj file just in case.

  • Just Laa enabled Sonar 5 Laatido Utility. Worked flawlessly. Now have access to just over 2.7 GB's of VSL VI samples on my 3GB machine. Thanks Mattias and Nick!!

    Best,
    Jay

  • Glad that worked.

The link is up on our site now, by the way. [:O]ops:

Can't seem to find that one, Nick.
Is it in the lgqjodvnavlgravnnanavavsdn;lnv;alsdnva;joiqweqw directory?

Well, it would have to be. I haven't found it yet either but if it takes all day or all week I will find it.

  • Don't you guys know *anything?!*

    For heaven's sake. [8-)]

  • Okay I found it and it's working great!

    Can you?

    Really?

Erm, I need to go lie down for a while.......It's hard to keep up with all these technological advances.
Next you'll be telling me Windows has released a new version of their excellent and trouble free operating system to take over from 3.1.........

    [[:|]] [:D]

  • If there is a new Windows OS as you mentioned I sure hope I can run it on my Mac Plus. But I don't think a Mac will ever be able to run a Windows OS. Nope never... not in a million years.

Dave, my friend, I thoroughly agree with you. It's beyond the realms of science fiction to imagine Windows on a Mac. As distant as a fine magazine made just for us computer composer chaps.

Ah well, back to the parchment. (Must replace the candle, it's getting low.)

Now where did i put that quill?

Heavens dear boy, get yourself an oil lamp. These things go for hours! Whale oil is my current favorite.
