  • The VSL Podcast .. Show 009

Hi everyone. Just got Show 009 done and it should be available for download now. Let me know if there's any problem in getting the file.

We continue the tech topic section of show 008 but this time discussing woodwinds and how to apply them. You can download the logic and midi file for reference from www.elvenmusic.com/vsl/vsl.html Also I discuss a dissect of the 'Galaxy Quest' theme. In the composer showcase we have pieces from Guy Bacos and Jay Bacal. The end theme is a piece of my own work (still in progress).

    Hope you enjoy.

  • Hi Hetoreyn,

Thanks for including me in your show. My first webcast...I'm famous now! [:D]

    Best,
    Jay

I had to unplug it. Those Hollywood producers can be such pests. [:D]

  • Hehe! Well guys ... and bacals .. it was a pleasure to include your pieces on the show. And now you have your adoring fans clawing at you .. I spend a fortune in shirts .. people ripping them off me .. I wish! [:D]

    Thanks again to you both.

  • Hetoreyn,

Good show, and i enjoyed the 'dissection' of parts.
For all the comments i've made in the past about the lack of adventure in modern film scores, i found Galaxy Quest to be a highly entertaining movie with the music suited to the images.

    Alan Rickman was priceless!

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • hehe,

Aye I know what you mean about modern score .. and Alan Rickman [:P]. About 20 minutes into the movie I wanted to go and buy the score. I was pissed right off when I found that it wasn't available to buy. I think I found supertracks through ebay.

The CD soundtrack is cool. It has 30 tracks on it, practically the entire film soundtrack.
