    I was hoping someone from the team might chime in on another thread where I was discussing this, but since they may not have seen it, I'll post here.

    I'm trying to find out if the Solo Trombone, Legato, is supposed to only sustain it's note for a second or two. This is what is happening when I use it in Nuendo. It makes it impossible to play almost any melody line because of the short sustain. And while there is an additional patch with a crossfade to sustain from legato, the sustain it crossfades to does not have the vibrato on it that the legato bone did. At least not immediately...it takes too long to come in.

    Someone else said this was not supposed to be happening with this Trombone legato patch, and that it should be holding out longer. I am also having this same problem on the EPIC HORNS legato in VI....it just doesn't hold out long at all.

    Well - I'm not VSL, but I can confirm that Epic Horns legato does not go higher than the D after middle C, and that the legato note is 2-3 seconds tops.

    I can't imagine this short of a note duration on the horn, or the bone. What logic could be behind this? Doesn't happen on flutes, clarinets, or other instruments in the library....

    I can't get a D out of the Epic Horn...either...

    Yes-- I'm getting similar results and am wondering...

    The sustains have never been long enough for me, so I'm having to run out single notes as audio and then applying x-fades and mix cheats to suppliment the musical requirements of the score. I'd rather not do that-- too time consuming...

    Is the computer borrowing CPU resources for other tasks? Is there a way to shift work priority to avoid this? If so, what are the trade offs? There are always trade offs...

    Ok, maybe I'm just remembering it wrong and that it only goes to middle C. In other words I dont think there is anything technicaly wrong with what you are experiencing.

    Anyway, since you have the VI the simple fix is to put a sustian patch in the second cell slot and just to a Cell X Fade. Its not as elegant if the whole thing was looped, but its an option.

    I wish the Epic Horns held out as long as the normal horns, there seems to be no reason why they wouldn't.

    The trombone legato patch has such wonderful vibrato that it also too bad it wasn't looped...the other versions wait far too long for the vibrato to kick in (the crossfade versions). Perhaps in the future you could get us a looped version of this wonderful solo trombone. It is capable of doing 40s solo work as heard in the Sinatra, Nelson Riddle arranged material, but not with this short of a sustain...
