    Don't user presets, patches, and matrices show up in the associated windows in the VI itself? I've made presets and stored them in my "Vienna Instruments Custom Data" folder, but the VIs themselves don't see them. If this is not the supported behavior I'd like to make a _strong_ recommendation that it be implemented. I'm finding the process of accessing user-defined settings pretty awkward.
    However, if this is the intended behavior, then what can I do to "reset" it, so to speak. I did notice that, right after installation, my Vienna Instruments Custom Data folder was owned by "system", and I had read permission only (I only noticed because I was unable to save my presets there). Is this correct?

    Okay, half the question is answered. By setting the Vienna Instrument Custom Data folder owner back to "system" my presets now appear in the VI window! Very nice. However, as I originally experienced, I now am unable to save anything.

    ... [ pause ]...

    Well, if I give myself group read/write permission I can now write patches _and_ they show up in the VI window.

    So, have my permissions been mangled, or have others experienced the same problems?

    Hi jbm

    My folder is set to <my name> as the Owner. I can write data there and all my presets show up in the VI GUI.
